UCSB Campus Learning Assistance Services

Asst. Coordinator / Math Instructor Lee DeAnda

CLAS Learning Skills Counselor Lee DeAnda earned both a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a master’s degree in Education from UCSB. Lee is passionate about helping students who struggle in math and who may have little or no interest in mathematics.

I am passionate about helping students succeed in math, especially students who have yet to realize their mathematical potential.  Yes everyone can do math just like anyone can learn to play the guitar.  It just takes practice.

Thank you for joining my CLAS group!  I look forward to working with you and getting to know you this quarter.  Here are some expectations that are important to keep in mind.

What I will do for you:
      Promote independent learning
      Further develop main concepts
      Provide daily independent practice
      Encourage participation

What you will do for me:
Attend all lectures and be current with the readings
Start your HW before coming to group
Finish your HW on your own.

What I will NOT do for you:
      Re-teach the class
Do HW problems that you turn in for credit
Help you catch up if you fall behind
